Tips on house duck?

This is about my disabled duckling.
I'm worried he'll smell, I'm also a bit worried about the mess but I'm thinking I can contain his food and water in a kiddie pool with puppy pads.
I plan on using diapers and changing them every 3 or 4 hours during the day. Will this stop him from smelling?
Any other tips?

Unfortunately ducks don't smell like Roses, but do have their own aroma. Maybe this link will help. Good luck and please keep us posted.
