Tips on keeping chickens busy so they don't wipe out grass in the run?

I would but my mom says she wants us to be as green as we can...that means real plants lol but thanks for the suggestion!

Eww! Washing chicken poop out of astroturf sounds like a nightmare!

I'd suggest two pens, alternate them and plant a fast growing cover crop in the other. That + free ranging should help. I still think any yard you confine chickens to is gonna be a bare dirt patch in no time!​

our yard is too full of dangerous animals for them to free range in.

i wish they could, but it's better safe than sorry...i think we're going with the tractor. we'll just have to move it once a day...right?? thanks guys! you're great!
