Tips on taming/socializing chicks

Yes I'll just have to accept it I guess. I'm just so envious of folks I've seen on YouTube that have cuddly lap chickens lol. I still love them dearly, that will never change.

Get a chick and keep it inside as a pet if you want one thats cuddly lol

Handle them and feed them a lot as chicks but keep in mind they do go through a stage where they are very skittish then get much better. Once you tame your first hens, they'll teach the new ones that there isn't anything scary about humans.

My chickens are as tame as anyone else's but hate being picked up. They won't have anything to do with me if I try to pick them up. They eat out of my hand and stay at my feet but avoid me if I try to catch them.

I actually think I may try that with Noodle. She's the runt per se and seems the most apt to sit quietly on my lap or shoulder once she's calm. When she gets bigger in a couple of weeks, I'm going to try to diaper her.

Domestic chickens are related to wild jungle fowl and share many similarities.The tamest chickens are house pets,not chickens in a flock.
