I am making this thread to talk about things you can do while waiting for you eggs to hatch...and hopefully keep you from candling your eggs...hehe!:pop:th

I like to go on youtube, they have a lot of videos about chicken development. I get to see the daily chicken development, or I can look up pictures or videos of my breed of chickens. I also like to sew my baby birds blankets and baby beds,

and little slip covers for their first couple weeks. they love'm.

I have a good place set up for them to live. I dig out all the equipment needed, and I visit with friends, and other hatchers, on BYC! What are your waiting tips?:ya

step one. accept the problem you're having...its called chickenitus.
step two. accept that you can't withhold or cure chickenitus.
step three. accept that you are going to need your daily chicken fix.
step four. come to terms that the incubator holds future chickens.
step five. fight urge to carry entire incubator around while waiting for future chickens.

step six. look elsewhere for daily chicken fix. ( google-ing chicken sling, and chicken sweaters may help )

your babies will thank you later.

but still...goodluck!

I simply give in to the urge. After every one has left the house for the day, and it's just me and the dog and the incubator, I steal a couple of eggs out of the bator, and go in the bathroom where I can be alone in a dark room with them. A quick view with a flash light, watch the babies dancing in their eggs, then I can tuck them back into the bator, and get on with my day. There's enough eggs so that a little peek every day doesn't do any harm.
