My Coro hen has developed this growth. It is not oozing and is definitely tissue. She's had it for 2 days. I've put anti bacterial ointment on it. Anyone seen anything like this? It is not a tear and is not filled with puss or fluid that I can tell. She is not in distress when I handle it.

That is the darnedest thing. I wonder if it is an allergy, or like a skin tag in humans. I would monitor it closely for the next several days. It is worrisome that it appeared so quickly and got so large. If it starts to shrink down then...good. If not I would take steps to remove it. If it is like a skin tag it should be easy to resolve.

I might be looking at the picture wrong, but what is above the "growth"? It looks like a dark spot, like maybe the wattle was torn on something and that skin is actually what came off the spot.

It may not be the best photo, however, it is in fact tubular like tissue growth that is dark at the leading edge. It is not a tear. It did come on quickly and it has gotten a bit longer but not as plump. I've been putting antibiotic on it and have been monitoring it closely.
