To add Rhode Island hens? Or not to add is the question

Try it! You might like them. If not, it is an easy problem to remedy.

I got leghorns, barred rocks and 6 red somethings. Production Reds? 3 dark and 3 lighter red. RIR or New Hampshires from Ideal Hatchery. The Reds are lower in the pecking order with the higher strung Leghorns on top. The Barred Rocks are up there with the Leghorns. Flock dynamics are interesting...

I'll second that individuals will have unique personalities. If you have a problem, fix the problem.
 
I actually have a BO and a RIR in my flock and they do just fine. Only issue is that RIR can be somewhat aggressive or at least adamant, regardless of gender. My RIR is the 2nd highest ranking hen, behind my rooster of course. But she doesn't bother my BO at all.:)

While some breeds are prone to be more kind or aggressive in nature, it's really a give or take kind of thing. Each hen to their own!
