To butcher or not to butcher, that is the question...

my CX's are now roughly ten weeks old. i called the packing plant and the soonest they could take them would be in two weeks! since there isn't anywhere else around, should i restrict their feed or what? the biggest ones are already 5.6 with the smaller ones being 4.

You should restrict 12 on and 12 off. Are they healthy and still moving around? If so I would not worry about it. Last year we let 3 go over 12 weeks and they processed out over 8 pounds.

Are you sure that your birds are Cornish X and not really white rocks? They seem to be too small for their age. What are you feeding them?

they are cornish X, but we were told to restrict their feed, and we think that it stunted their growth so to speak. they are MUCH bigger than our white rocks. they are relatively active, cuz they have an outdoor pen. we're feeding them a combination of corn fines (to cut costs)and regular grower feed. thanks
