To Clip or Not to Clip?

We are really new, so new in fact that our chicks won't even be arriving until 4/16... I've read that clipping your flocks wings is a good way to keep everyone in your yard. I've also read that it's not necessary?

Would appreciate any feed back for and against. Thanks again in advance you've all been so wonderful....................

Hi! I think it depends on if the chickens in question start leaving the yard. I personaly do not clip my chickens, or peacocks, because I want them to be able to escape if something is chasing them. But I live in the country and my birds don't really wander. YET!
