My Black Sex Linked are at least 4 weeks old, maybe a little bit more. Can I put them in a small coop together when it is 86 degrees in the day and 68 degrees at night? I could put a blanket over the whole coop at night. I need the cage they are in, but, of course, do not want to harm them in any way.

Do they have all their feathers, and will there be a heat lamp in the coop? Mine are in the coop (4 weeks old), and they have a heat lamp. They are very happy as well.

I only have one heat light and need it for the younger one. I was just wondering if it was warm enough right now in Louisiana for them to be in a covered coop? Right now the 2 week old and the 4 week olds are in separate cages side by side sharing the lamp, but I want to switch cages and was hoping it would be okay for the 4 week olds to be in the coop when it is 86 in the day and 68 at night (covered with a blanket).

Thanks.

I think it should be okay. Mine are outside in the daytime (sometimes it's 57*. They get all angry and flap around until I let them out.

) and in at night (80* in the coop). I'd put them outside for a night, checking on them often. If they're shivering, bring them in. If they seem happy, leave them out

They will be fine at that age. They will huddle together and keep each other warm. I wouldn't let them in the coop without a heat lamp if it gets below 50 degrees.
