to cover or not to cover

Should my nest boxes have a top.mine don't but looking at all the pictures of coops I'm wondering if it matters

You can put them on there if you want to but it doesn't matter if you have tops or not. Mine are open at the top.

Thanks was really just curious I have been looking at everybody's designs and it seems that all most all of them are covered. I guess to each chicken her own
