Keep getting your own birds. Even if you feed the same feed as store birds, you are getting a better bird because yours aren't pumped full of antibiotics, breathing poo-air, dragged through a feces bath after gutting, then rinsed with bleach. Plus, if you get your feed ground at the mill, they are getting REAL food- I can see all the corn and soy pieces in my feed, as opposed to the grey crumble of who knows what that's in the prebagged feed.
