Hi. I have two groups of chicken who I have just merged. 5 ladies are going on two years and 5 are going on 12 or 13 weeks. The older ones are eating all of the chick starter. Can I just feed them all the lay pellets or perhaps mix the two foods together?? Thanks

I have a similar problem. I intend to switch everyone to flock raiser and provide supplemental oyster shell. The layers will eat the shell for its calcium. The little ones shouldn't eat the shell because they don't need it. At least that is how I understand it.

I'd hold off on the layer till the younger ones are closer to POL. A couple more weeks.

I just went down to give them some fresh water as it is crazy humid outside and the little lladies were on the coup eating the older ladies feed..... So I guess they have made the decision themselves hahaha. I think I will mix the chick starter in with the other mix do the can get a bit of both
