i have one male and one female Pekin duck the female is going to be at egg laying age soon. How do we know if the egg she has layed is fertalized or not? We want to eat the eggs but not the fertalized ones.

If you have a male and female together they will be feritle...Only way to keep them apart if you will not eat a fertile egg..I know lots of people who do..Crack it open if there is a bullseye on the yolk its fertile..

why wouldn't you eat the fertile ones?, they taste just the same, just asking, it's not like you'd be eating a tiny little baby or anything.

if you have a male and female together, ALL of your eggs will be fertile.

A fertile egg is not the same as a developing egg. Until an egg is "set", you can't tell the difference taste or nutrition-wise.

i agree with everyone! if you dont wanna eat the fertile ones then you need to rehome your drake or you could eat him;)
we eat our fertile ones no prob. there isnt any blood or anything just the same as an unfertile one

As I say, "FERTILE and DEVELOPING are two different things." Among other stuff.
