If you can except loosing some of your flock then let them range eventually your sure to loose some. Everything loves to eat chickens. Predators will eventually win. It happens very fast. This winter I culled my Roo & don't range mine as much now. I feel there's very little for them to forage on so why take a chance the hawks are bad this year. I do provide them with greens from my garden which is beneficial to the flock thru the winter months.
