To have a poop board or not

We use rabbit tray pans.(you can buy them at any feed store or TSC) ..and when they are dirty all we need to do is slide them out and empty them and hose them down. easy.

Edited to add: We wanted something with a lip or edge on it so we could put shavings or newspaper in the dropping tray. To make it easier to clean.

Or take your measurments to the store and they will cut it for you. At least Home Depot will.... May be an additional charge, but they usually do one cut for free.

I am thinking that I may need to stack roosts until my males have been culled. Anybody have a good pic of how you have solved the poo board issue for this dilema. I am thinking that I will have one set of stair step (2 roosts) 3 feet above the other set. Sort of an upstairs/downstairs sort of thing.

I am have also seen that some people enclose the area under the roosts so that chickens use the area under the roosts and get 'dropped-on'.
