ok ive got to get a quick question and answer here...i am a newbe at the chicken thing and i have 14 10 week old golden comets...5 days ago i bought 2 laying hens and didnt know to quartine (banging my head on cement wall!) one has the runs...should i isolate her right now immeditly and wash everyhting down or is it too late???

I would say play it safe and quarantine. It may be stress due to change but I wouldn't take the chance. Good luck.

It has been hot & they drink more water causing runs. If it has already been a few days then I would not separate now.

thank you...ill just have to vet treat if something goes wrong...rookie mistake

Even though you didn't quarantine at first, any ill chicken should be separated from the others immediately, so do that with that hen now if you haven't already. Hopefully, you haven't infected everyone, but as Katy said, it may be too late after that long.

I know...i didnt know she was sick..which i dont really think she is..shes just hurt then has runs maybe from change of food...she wont flap her right side wing hummm...
