To sand or not sand?

I looked into it too. I've heard they are working on changing their distribution line, so I keep checking every few weeks! If not, it might be time to start a new coffee collection and drying business from Starbucks and other coffee places!

Guess I need to take a day and go around and find someone that will save them for me.

When I save my grounds I let them dry on a plate inside. I'd probably try to spread them on a black tarp that I have for larger scale. Of my own grounds I've probably added several pounds over the last 3 months and have had no issues. I don't see why a larger scale would be an issue!

For those who want to use sand, here is a photo after 4-5 years of sand run. I live in PNW so rain a lot and run smell very bad. I covered with woodchips couple months ago and intend to add more if need. The decay woodchips will be use for garden.

Up in the PNW you need absorbency and lots of it. Here in Southern Texas I could probably Get away with anything. My run is sand and their extra play yard (attached to the run) is a mixture of leaves and dirt. The sand makes it easier for me to find the poop in the run and so far I don't have any issues. My main run is covered and the play yard is under a huge tree.

How do you like Texas? I was thinking moving to Texas or Florida in the future. I like growing tropical fruit trees.
