I’ve heard and read that Chickens cannot see at night. Just HOW blind are they? (Or do we really know?) My babies know and react to my voice when I CARRY each one to bed each night....one by one...(spoiled? Ya think?) But , can they see me at all? For example, in the light of a normal porch light? Just curious...

They can see, they're just more compliant. My coop gets thin light from a street lamp and the girls move around on the roost if I go in at night.

Yes, I know , after I’ve “put them toned”, ...if I go in later, I hear the “cooooos and soft talk when I whisper to them to let them know it’s just me. I’m guessing that’s why they are considered easy prey for those idiotic, evil, stupid, (stop me now!) raccoons! My babies are safe and sound until the morning...just wanted to understand! Thanks!

Yea I can hear them shuffling around and cooing after someone sounds a quiet alarm. They relax though if I talk to them quietly so they know it's me and not a monster.
