I am receiving my meat chicks here in a couple of weeks. I will be getting my egg laying chicks three weeks after that. Will I need to have a separate brooder for the newly arrived chicks, or will the meat chicks be o.k. with the new comers? I also have concerns with the older meat chicks accidentally crushing the new egg chicks, or should they be o.k.?

I would brood them separately for a variety of reasons. Age difference mixed with the size difference being the main two, you don't want any squishing to happen I am sure.

You need 2 brooders because the meat chicks grow so fast that they will crush the regular chicks. (I am assuming that by meat chicks you mean some sort of broiler and not heritage duel purpose breeds). They are also very food aggressive and may prevent the smaller regular chicks from getting feed.
