To treat as Cocci or not?

Doc Brown has been super helpful to me in the past, as he has many others, so generous with his time and even on occasion, sending out meds for absolutely free when we were trying to figure out what was going on with my Zane's hock issue. He literally saved his life and Zane went on to live four more years, trouble free, healthy and happy. He has written some excellent articles!

I just read this posting in the forum. I am so glad to have this site available. I have found it to be extremely helpful and informative. I just wanted to thank you for posting Peter Browns article. It was very easy reading and informative.
I have some chicks i bought from a store, that came from hatcheries. I am new to raising chickens. Love the experience of raising new chicks, but hard to see chicks getting sick. I have started the corid treatment and the chicks seem to be improving.
Just wanted to say thank you!

Glad you found the info here helpful! I agree, Peter Brown in awesome. The last time I spoke to him, he had been in a pretty bad car accident and was having a hard time. I hope he has gotten better- I had a chick this go round with a hernia, had called him to ask his opinion, and never got a call back, which is unusual.

Yes. It is VERY hard to see animals under your care suffering, and it can be difficult to figure out exactly what the problem is. Cocci seems to be an easy one provided you get them treated asap. Good luck with your chicks and welcome to the club- it's addictive!
