Hi,
I have been told by various Waterfowl Breeders that the best way to get a higher hatch rate is to hand turn your eggs each day. I was using a turner and had 0% hatch. I just ordered in Silkie eggs and I actually paid money for these ones and I want the best hatch possible. I have a Little Giant Still Air Bator and the Turner that comes with the LG Bator. Would you suggest to use my turner or turn by hand. Sometimes I am unable to turn them 3 times a day because I forget or am not home.

Also does anyone use this type of Bator to hatch eggs. If so how much water do you put in to keep the humidity where it is susposed to be?

Use the turner. I don't see how you could get a better hatch rate by hand turning them. Something else probably happened that caused your 0% hatch. Just make sure the turner is working! Good luck with your hatch!

Well my turning turns upright and they say waterfowl should be turns horizontally.

Is there any homemade ways to test humidity levels?
