For humidity in the incubator that is. A teacher is incubating in the classroom and was told to not bother with the water in the incu because we have enough humidity in our air.

Anyone else ever not bother, or just didn't need to add water????

Some people do it that way...but when I tried the humidity in the incubator dropped to 10% as I am sure the heat and the fan dry the air inside the incubator. So I did put in a small pan of water and incubated at an average of 40% humidity and upped it to 60% for hatching on day 19.

Guess I'm lucky that I live where I do. No water in the troughs and still run 20-40% depending on what kind of front just came through. Every once in a while it gets down in the teens and I have to add a wet sponge.
