To who ever suggested the feather duster....

oh wow. He is the cutest little thing ever. I have my very first ducks in the bator due to hatch around the 10th. I also have my very first "early" pip. So I am excited. These are khaki's too.

Can I ask you a question? You said as long as you didn't get a Pekin you would be happy. You mind telling me why? I have pekin's in the bator and I need to know if they are good or bad, lol.

Nothing wrong with a Peking, they are just big when they grow up and I have a small yard. That is why I am sticking with the medium-sized breeds. I am also focusing on more prolific egg layers. Muscovies and Pekins are great meat ducks, but I am not sure I am ready to go there yet...LOL

JJ has also been checking out that "other duck" in the mirror. The feather duster and the mirror are great temporary fixes for that lone hatch. Thanks again to all the smart people on BYC for giving such great advice to use total newbs!!!

Wifezilla, I don't recall whether I ever suggested it to you but I have recommended it to several people. I've never had a lone chick/duckling, but it just makes sense to me that they would find comfort in the familiar (feathers).
Your duckling is adorable.

Very very cute.

Ohh my word that is so cute,

Bless, and sounds like you have a some great ideas.

Jena.

gritsar, I read it on a random post a few weeks back. It very well could have been you because your avatar looks familiar. Give yourself a pat on the back in case it was!
