To0 many drakes. I separated them yesterday. Everyone seems happier.

Maybe a bit of the monastic and convent life would be good for hens and drakes. Too many drakes (6) and 2 older hens, and 12 new hens that are about 2 months old. I got sick of the constant racing around, fighting, and general broohaha.

So, I pulled the drakes out and put them in with my geese. Peace has reigned ever since. The boys are no longer chasing each other, just hanging out together being quiet. The hens are just hanging out looking relieved. The noise level went way down.

Get thee to a nunnery, indeed. I think I may just leave everyone like this for a long, long time.

Thanks, I don't see any reason to mix the genders until next year, and at that only if I decide I need to hatch any more. With this many, I doubt that!
