I certainly didn't mean to side track the conversation, I just thought I'd share my thoughts on the off hand chance you needed to start again and perhaps weren't aware that there are so many types of CX, I sure didn't. it's a neat project you have going, good luck with it!

Ralphie...you know what they say...use it or loose it! Better to keep busy than sitting around watching T.V. I'm loving the whole toad thing!!

Ok question for anyone who has raised toads. How long until they get up to 10 lbs? I'm trying to figure out if these things would be appropriate for market pen of Minnesota 4h. The only limits are up to 10 pounds and hatched after Jan 1.

This is going to be a by guess thing. No one has ever raised a toad other than me.

MnMomofplenty is the second person to successfully be raising toads and hers are young. Holm killed off his toads. (SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!!)

I have never been big into record keeping. So it is all on Mof5 to let us know the proper dates.

I am guessing at the 8 week mark for the county fairs.

There is a neighbor 4h kid that has a dozen eggs, that should have hatched by now, I will stop over and see how hers are doing. I have eggs in the incubator and I have some to go it.

I got 2 toad eggs yesterday so maybe the pullets are going to start laying again. the molt seems to be lessening on a couple of them.

Today is weigh-in day for the chicks. I'll be back with week 2 weights. Don't ask for feed conversion though. I am not measuring that and they are in with 8 other chicks as well so it would be difficult to figure out without separating each chick out.

At some point, if you start getting eggs in regularly, I could certainly raise some out and take lots of stats. That would mean shipping eggs, mind. But I'm using to taking weights and measuring FCRs for lots of things. I do this all the time for my rabbits especially. I have a special scale and a basket for it and everything. :p
