Today I noticed my hen sneezing and my rooster also had a bit of snot but maybe I’m being crazy I seperated the hen because she sounds bad as well like hard time breathing im not sure what it is I went crazy on TikTok looking I gave her oregano oil and some garlic mixed with vetrx also order tiagaurd in case my whole flock is infected with respiratory infection first time owning chicken and I’m soo sad that they might all die can’t lie been crying bout them grown man crying bout his chickens 🤦

Have you added any new birds to your flock lately? How long have you had these birds? Have you seen any bubbles or foam in either eye? How about any swelling of the eyelids or face. Is there a bad odor from the face? I would contact your state vet and try to get the sick birds tested.

I know this was very dumb of me but I also got a chicken at a swap and shop and she’s very sick I think I’m going to have to put her down

Looks like she has a sinus infection and the bubbles in the eyes often indicate Mycoplasma.
The Tiagard (Tiamulin) may help with symptoms, but if she has MG, then she'll be a carrier for life.

Is there a bad odor about her face or does she have plaques inside the beak?

I'm sorry this has happened. Unfortunately, getting chickens at swaps you do sometimes end up bringing in an illness.

She does have like a sorta bad odor around the beak and herself even after I showered her down and if she’s a carrier her whole life does that mean unfortunately I would have to out her down and if not can she be around the flock?

Culling would be up to you.

MG is contagious, so other birds can contract it. Some folks keep a MG+ flock they just keep a closed flock, meaning they do not sell or give away birds, hatching eggs, chicks, etc. They keep all until they die out. MG can be passed into the embryo of hatching eggs, chicks may hatch, but usually they don't. The disease like most all respiratory diseases can affect production and the reproductive system as well.

@Wyorp Rock a question for you. Once a MG+ flock all dies out, how long should an owner wait before starting over with new birds? Does MG remain in the soil, or in the coop for a period of time?
