I no it is like watching a pot water and waiting for it to boil but when are these girls going to get it together and start laying eggs. They were all hatched on the same day, April 29, 2011. I have:
2 - Buff Orphingtons
2 - RIR
2 - Black Austrolorps
3 - SLW
3 - Barred Rocks (They are so friendly, one fell asleep in my arms yesterday.)
I have always been told that the RIR's would start early but I am getting nothing yet. I let them free range but not until the last 4 hours of the day. I have checked the nesting area and the run for eggs and for signs of scavengers that might be taking the eggs, but nothing. There has been none of the usual cackling that goes on with egg production.
I realize I will just have to wait but I guess I just wanted to vent a little.
Thanks for Listening / Reading, LOL
Stephen
