We finally let our ducks go down to the pond. It is quite a ways from their pen so my daughter had to show them the way (i.e. chase them that direction).
Of course they had a BLAST and were thoroughly enjoying themselves. Then evening came and a storm threat came with it. I went out to the pond and they absolutely wouldn't follow me or get out of the pond. I tried food. I tried treats. They wanted nothing to do with me. Not a big surprise really because they are not tame and still run from me at feeding time. Anyway, just as I was about to give up and hope & pray nothing got them (storm or foxes), they took it upon themselves to head back to their pen on their own. I was so relieved....
