Today was too close

A close call Miss Lydia but good to hear you were on hand when your gander got bitten. I'd love a pair of Embdens again but I remember our last Gander was so aggressive to everyone and everything. Similar to your situation but sounds like your dog's had enough and turned the tables on the Gander. The Embdens just dont know when to back off but they're lovely birds. Almost ordered a pair last week at a show but they're huge and the Gander must weigh 25-30lbs. Thats a lot of bird to deal with if he turns aggressive in Spring!

Hope your Gander fully recovers from his canine encounter

Thanks Pete, I was just telling someone that this time of year is when Samson is the most non aggressive with me anyway. But like you said they just don't know when to back off and looks like Annie our mixed breed tried to pull him through the dog door since all the feathers where inside the house, he has a pretty good wound where she pulled his feathers out at the root so to speak, but it could have been so much worse, they'll not get a chance to tangle again. I love him to pieces but he can be extreme at times.
