Today's temperature = # of eggs.

Have been getting 3 eggs a day since they started sometime back in Aug/Sept

Mon (night) 25f = 3 eggs
Tues 21f = 1 egg (new, heated waterer in run this day)
Wed 12f = 1 egg
Thurs 14f = 3 eggs (over the stress from the 'killer' waterer?)

It's been 0 to -3 F here with wind chills of -15 F. I've been getting 3 eggs from the 3 ladies everyday. They have no heat but light. They are all Leghorns.

Is it the feels like or the base degrees we are going by?

Yesterday without windchill = -9.75 degrees (with windchill -32.8F)
Total eggs collected = 24. Total eggs frozen open 6. Total eggs savable = 18

Hi all, I have 8 hens. Yesterday, I got 8 eggs! Still laying proud and strong! It went down to 7 degrees last night and is now 15 here in central NJ. I do not have any heaters in coop, but I have a low light bulb that gives them extra light. They always go outside in their run in the morning like its not even cold out. I have 2 freaky light brahmas that always have dirty butts, 2 fat BOs, 1 RIR, 1 EE, 1 cinnamon queen, and 1 black mix (pretty tho). I gave them some warm oats, buckwheat, rice and yogurt yesterday morn and they chowed it down like it was their last meal.

(These are not todays eggs)

It was 71 here yesterday and I got four eggs, three from easter eggers and one from sex link. I have 7 hens and we are just finishing up molt for 4 older hens.
