I admit that I have seen what it can do, but if it is strung very tight, they are less likely to get tangled in it. They generally respect it more than smooth, and 40 miles of fence is too much for electric.

I've seen them run through it too, but yes that is a lot, a lot of people use it, I don't have much property and I get snow and frost so electric made sense

tbh my acreage is just one acre. I have this fencing, with the sheep wire squares and barbed wire string along the top and bottom, but my parents have a homestead that's been in the family for over 100 years 2 hours north in the badlands. That's where the big fences are.

Electric up that way doesn't make sense unless you have to and if you do you would want it solar

She came around five, and at seven, I was going to put her down. But, she is getting older, and no one else puts her down until much later. IDK how she carries on until ten or eleven elsewhere. She asked for juice, and sat with me. Her head fell against my chest, and her eyes closed. She finished her juice, dropped her cup, and settled sideways with her head on the arm of the chair.
I asked if she wanted to go to bed. She barely moved until I was changing her. She tried to get her second wind, but failed. Again, it's normal to go without stories on these nights, but I tried anyway. She laid on my shoulder through "Goodnight Moon" and I held her a while. I sang and said prayers, but she was out!
She woke enough to make kissing noises, but was too tired to do more than slit her eyes open. I am going through all of this for her.
I'm going to have a hard week. But I will try to keep my focus on her. Nothing else matters. For all I won't fight for, I will do anything for her. Anything.

You got this! It takes a special kind of person to raise a child; more so one who is not their own. You're definitely that special kind of person.
