Toddlers are Quackers

Yup! I was the same. In fact, it was ten years for me too.

:gig Duckling said that I helped her hang clothes on the line to dry. I could have sworn she was running around, chasing chickens and playing with the pins.
Just as we were headed out, her diaper leaked all over again. When her father came, I asked what they have been using. The generics from the dollar store.

but she doesnt live here to show me

i agree, umm i have access only to what the stores sell, and i am a member of nothing but my office
the only thing i could can would be poop, chicken or horse

though my ducks did plant me a very nice looking tomato plant, it is even starting to get some fruit on it, but i am sure either the frost or my chickens will get to them before i do

I understand your situation....but if you ever decide to give it a try there are many here who can help with basics, and many, many sites with awesome instructions and even videos now.
Keep canning in mind if you have a recipe you like making in large quantities (for me it is French Onion Soup) canning it allows me to go through the mess of making it every few months but being able to grab a qt of it off of the canned shelf when either DH or I are in the mood for it. My other most frequently canned items are chicken and broths...both chicken and beef...canning doesn't need to be just for garden stuff and jams, though I think that is most people's first thought when they hear 'canning'.

Sounds like what they think they are saving in diapers will have to be spent on doing the extra laundry from the diaper leaks!
Not to mention the skin irritation....
Poor kid!

And BTW...that fancy new car seat is staying at your place, right? Sorry if that sounds rude but it sure doesn't seem they can be trusted to bring it to you if you need it in an urgent fashion!

It was very nice of her to "let you help" LOL

First, I hope I don't come off as a jerk to most of you. Despite the snarky comments some people leave me.
I sometimes think I have a great idea. But, not everyone agrees. That is okay.
Here are some of the things I was thinking about.

So, Liz, I hope you know I was teasing about you not liking the idea. It was only an idea.
lol, i was looking on my phone, now that i can see the pictures i know better what i am looking at, i like the jar cups

I mostly can jam. I YouTube-taught myself how to do it & only do the cheaper Bath method. I didn't can any this year & we've been out of jam for over a month. I keep staring at the jam in the store, but cant convince myself to spend all that $$ on HFCS. I'm gonna have to bite the bullet & make some quick refrigerator jam with frozen fruit. Until then, the kids will have to keep eating pb & honey a little longer. @DwayneNLiz if you're not sure if you're into it, or dont have the stuff (jars, giant pot, funnel, tongs & magnet on a stick) maybe try a little refrigerator jam. Its pretty easy & super tasty. I keep mine pretty 'clean'. Just lemon, sugar & fruit.
i dont have the stuff, or unfortunately the time, and i would be canning stuff from the grocery store which seems ridiculous to me

I was never exposed to canning. It is like most other things. We just forget to teach our children the way to survive without all the conveniences of today. So, my mother and other elders never taught me how to can.
I remember one of my previous relationships, his mother and sister and sister-in-law went into the basement to can. I wanted to go to, but they said I was too citified. They could not imagine me ever canning. When my husband was on Workmen's Comp., I was given a chance to learn to can. I started with the discovery kit and a seven piece starter kit. All those starter kits are different for some reason.

I canned salsa and pickles.
I finally got a pressure canner two years ago. My first journey into pressure canning was potatoes. When that went over well, I moved on. I can't begin to tell you how glad I am to have my pressure canner! My very first time using it as a pressure cooker was when Fisherlady recently reminded me it could be used for that.

You can't imagine the difference it made in the stock! The dog is asleep on my lap, or I would take a picture of the difference.
someone made me pickles once they we very yummy

I think I've created a monster with the car seat. It is true that I was messing around, and tilting her backward. But, she was mad because I unbuckled her! She insisted on sitting in her seat to drink her juice. The cupholders are a big success!
I need to move the crotch buckle to the second setting, but the difference in the fit is immense! I might be able to move the shoulder straps up, but it seems to be okay where it is.
I know that there are car seats out there that don't require you to adjust the shoulder straps, but that was not my first concern when finding one for her. It would have been nice though. To be honest, I didn't even notice it on any of the seats I was looking at.

I understand the complaints about the seat. The head rest does seem to be awfully well padded, and the straps do look like they are about to cut into her neck. I have not removed the cover from the headrest, but I seriously doubt it is dry rotted.
when you move the headrest it moves the height of the shoulder straps, looks a little high in this pic

I have always wanted to learn how

I don't know that they are doing extra laundry. They usually just let the urine dry on whatever. Besides, I am the one that has her most of the time. :th
The seat is for my use only. Occasionally, someone visits and wants to take me somewhere.
Gee, I wish there were a way to say that that Chaos would not make fun of! :lau
It doesn't sound rude at all. I am just annoyed that the neighbors saw the box. Rude would be anyone expecting me to let them borrow it. Since I have been asked if they could borrow other items, I will have to remind them that they are the parents. They can get a new seat for what they spend on eating out in three days (or less).

Yes, she was very sweet!

I always wanted to can my own dog food, but that's way out of my league.

MC I think I missed something... Whats with your neighbor? Why does it matter that they saw the box?
