Toddlers are Quackers

You are entitled to your opinion... Here. I will harass you about it in private and other forums.

A few months ago, one of the youngest was playing upstairs like normal. I was cleaning up after a meal, and happened to pass him. He was behaving, & standing in front of the mirror.

Wait.... mirror??

He turned around rather guiltily. I noticed his hair looked wet....

It turns out he had smeared toothpaste and shampoo all over his hair. Needless say, he got a bath that night!

This morning, Duckling was just being so big! She likes to watch "Brainy Baby" (I have so many thoughts on that, but that is for later). She kinda gets into it, but not like she did this morning! She was right up to the television, pointing things out, and telling me about them. When the little girl was doing her ballerina fantasy (it has been included in other shows) Duckling put her hands out to bow, and waved to the crowd.

I recently got rid of my sectional (it was such a nice sectional. Oh well!) so she could have room to play. My house is comfortable, but the sectional was too big, and more suited for my husband and me than a house with a child in it. I also wanted Duckling to be able to sit on her beanbag chair to watch television. Two days ago, I put the chair in the right spot for her. Today, Duckling went over, and moved the chair herself! She even remembered that it has a handle for easy moving.

I am so proud of her for all that she can do!
Sadly, her aunt has come for her, and she is gone now. I will now spend the weekend working on rebuilding my turkey pen (why oh why did I disassemble it?!) and selling ducks. And, I have to get to work in the garden before my cucumbers and watermelon get married and have pumpkin babies!

so my dd likes to randomly refer to my husband and i by our given names rather than mommy and daddy. i think it is important for children to know-
she knows our full names, her full name, her grandparents full names, and town/state she lives in, next we are working on telephone numbers

i always tell her that she needs to know this because sometimes children are stolen, this is also how i keep her close to me when we are at stores- i tell her she will be stolen if she gets too far from me

i will think of some funny stories too

When my parents used to lose me in the store, my mother usually knew where to find me. My father... I do not even know how long it took him to realize that I was gone. Paying attention to his children was not his forte.
So, I tearfully asked person after person if they knew where the lost and found was? Sadly, not one adult was willing to bring me there.
So, I made it to the desk and kept saying "excuse me! excuse me!" The girl asked for my father's name. I could only tell him it was "daddy". She asked me what my mother called him. I said "honey".
I remember my father teaching me my address and phone number. It never occurred to my parents to let us kids know their names. They never ever ever used each other's names. :th

yep, super important, i find it very strange when kids find out that their parent has a name and they had no clue that it was possible
my dh thinks that she is going to be stolen anywhere we go, especially because she is blonde hair blue eyed devil
