Toddlers are Quackers

Yes dry heat is better then wet heat. However no heat is the bestest.

We are back to Canada or Alaska.
Yuck, just yuck.
I like New Mexico better, but agree on the dry heat!

The only time we got stuck because of snow was in Albuquerque. And it was a few feet.

Really?? You must have hit a rare storm because the average for the whole winter is only 11 inches and we usually only get a couple inches at a time. Wake up to snow, mostly melted by the afternoon. I love it. :)

I don't necessarily think that. They look fine to me, but I just don't know any better. Like when you've had your first hatch and can't see any problems, but by your hundredth hatch you get a second sense for weak chicks.

They bounce around and their bellies look full. They don't cry, they sleep a lot. I'm seen them nibble hay and feed with their mom. Poop is still yellow and squishy. The buckling already stinks like a buck. The doeling likes to stand on my feet. The Big Boys don't seem to mind them. That's all I know. :highfive:

Well I hope that they continue to progress as they should. What do you mean by the buckling already stinks like a buckling? My buckling doesn't seem to have any particular odor to him and he's still intact.........although he needs to not be.

What breeds do you have?

My wether is a Nubian and the one that's intact is Nubian/Alpine/? cross. He's still a youngster about 10 weeks old or so.

That's awesome. I think my whether a are boer/nubian crosses. They were just starting to really get musky when we banded them.

The buckling doesn't just outright stink, but when you nuzzle him there's definitely a different smell than the doeling. I think I'm hyper-sensitive to the musk, also. If I get around mature billies then I've got that goat stink on the back of my tongue for days. :/
