Wow that seems really young. We tried to give him a bottle a couple times but he never really took it. Was just trying to make sure he would have something in his belly because I didn't know if he was eating big kid food yet or not, he's eating big kid food now. The pic below is from the day we bought him so I think he was roughly ~8 weeks. My son picked him out and named both of them.
You should get some anywaysI decided I wanted goats when I kept seeing them for $35-75. Then I saw how healthy and easy they are to keep. It is a wonder I didn't get some then. Now, I am too nervous about adding another mouth to feed.

We were told that our boys were at the auction because their nanny was killed by a dog the day before. We bottled them for the next 3 months. Jangles took it on his second try, but Beaux fought me for a solid week. Three times a day he'd get 3-4 oz in his belly and we'd both be covered in milk. But a week to the day later he latched on and never looked back.
I was lucky to have a neighbor with goats, and of course everyone on BYC cheering me on.![]()

Yea we tried maybe a half dozen times to get him to take the bottle and he never really cared for the idea. Although I would see him nibbling at his food I just wanted to make sure he had some nourishment in him cause he's our first goat. Is that typical to bottle feed for so long?
I don't know. I was going to wean at 12 weeks but was advised to go another month. So we spent a month gradually decreasing their bottles.
