Toddlers are Quackers

Here is my 2 year old, I'll call her princess, and that's my 5 soon to be 6 year old son in the background. There's a 7 soon to be 8 year old girl, probably out with the turkeys, lurking somewhere. Princess had eye surgery this spring, and now we just found out that she isn't talking because she has had fluid in her ears most of the time, so she is getting tubes in a few weeks. She understands when you talk facing her and enunciate, but I'm betting most things sound like Charlie Brown's teacher," wa wa wa wah.." I am looking forward to her talking, because she mostly mumbles since that is what she hears. She isn't interested in TV since she doesn't hear well, which is probably a blessing in disguise. Still, she is my princess because of all my babies she is so sweet and loves her baby dolls, tucks them in, feeds them, gets them hugs from me and DH, talks to them. She is a wonderful little girl.

She is so darn cute!! What kind of eye surgery? My nephew was born with Glaucoma. Lots of surgeries for that kid!
I hope that all the medical stuff is over after her tubes are put in. And that they stay put!

Crossed eyes. She is just like me with the tubes, only her eardrums have never ruptured. And she wasn't particularly fussy about her ears unless she had a cold. I had tubes starting at 9 months.

Ah! Well, good luck with the tubes!

Duckling is crying. That means she is still tired. This late, it means she is not feeling well too.

Her diaper leaked, and I asked if she wanted a bath. "No." Then I swear she said tonight. I have never heard her say that word before, let alone know how to use it. She might have said something else, but I swear that is what she said. :th

It's amazing and frightening what kids will pick up on just from listening when you think they aren't.
