Toddlers are Quackers

Well, not normally..

BUT chasing a stupid turkey 3 times around the coop and through the woods every night for 6 weeks finally got to me.  So I plead guilty by reason of temporary insanity.

I told my wife a week or two ago I was going to take the .17  with me one of these nights and we were going to have a turkey dinner.  We still may. I have not decided her fate.

She is a small hen, very small. She is a Self Blue slate, I need to see how many I have and which Toms I will be breeding this year.   Then I will decide her fate. She will either become a small dinner entre or I will sell her to Coffee, She wants a few more hens this year and one Royal Palm Tom.  I am only breeding show birds (APA) so I am not sure  she fits my needs....Besides she is a little female dog!

In my defense, I would like to see how the rest of you react to chasing her through the woods every night for 6 weeks in 20 below temps and snow up to your posterior  sphincter muscle.

She would be in solitary confinement or the cone if I had to do that 2 weeks, let alone 6...you have been more patient than I would have ever been.

Thank you!

I keep telling this people what a kind patient person I am and they keep saying I was mean or had rage issues with it.

It was great at bedtime tonight. I had 3 on the fence, I walked behind them said bedtime they jumped up ran by the door and I told them. "In you go or you lose feathers and go to prison"

They all three walked in in a polite and orderly fashion. All it takes is to remove the cute little petite girl with the attitude from the flock and they all behave.

I am sure her pile of feathers lying in front of the door where I caught her help drive the point home.

Well if she were mine she would have ALL free range privileges suspended indefinitely.

Thank you!

Our first flock ended up with the inevitable 2 roosters in the mix. The hens loved me & all wanted to sit on my lap until the day I caught the one bully roo & trimmed his wing feathers. They were all terrified & wouldn't come near me after that. I had inadvertently become the alpha I guess.

 You ever think, "I need to go to bed now!" But you want to look something up before you forget? So you look it up, and it leads you to something else? And then you are so traumatized, you don't think you will ever sleep again?!
I want to hold Duckling close, and never let any new age ideas hurt her!! Okay, it won't necessarily hurt her. It's still going to give me nightmares!

The things people come up with are scary sometimes. I should also be in bed. I'm enjoying the peace of everyone sleeping. And, no spout of the same nursery rhymes on the TV repeated anymore! Princess has her dad wrapped so tightly, she brings him the remote, points, and demands, "Happy Now". He willingly turns on her shows and puts them on repeat until I, the bad guy, turn them off and make her go play. She tells on me to daddy, crying, " not happy now!"

Morning...

You two were night owls last night. We were too, We binge watched TV.. Our normal Saturday night. Some shows make it hard to not binge watch them.

Last night it was "the Royal's" We almost turned the show off in the first 5-10 minutes, then the whole thing changed and we got hooked. I could turn it on now, but nothing would get done here if I did.
