Toddlers are Quackers

3 AM on Good Friday, my Easter Egger is snatched by I presume dogs (it was 3 AM, I heard them, and THOUGHT I saw them, but it was too dark to be 100% certain. Looked like 2 dogs that've shown up in the yard before.) Half the flock sustained minor injuries (lot of bloody combs this morning), but all are fine. Shaken but fine.

I don't anticipate the Easter Egger who was killed on Good Friday will make a reappearance on Sunday.
I’m sorry about the attack.
You are very funny!

This is our Easter morning. Duckling woke too early. I sent her back to bed, but she didn’t try to go back to sleep (I’m still surprised she kept herself awake so long). So I have three minutes until her clock tells her she’s allowed up. The eggs are hidden now. I’ve had coffee. I’m ready!
The eggs were still wet. I hope I got the dye dried well enough!:fl

How I spend my free time. The lady at the bottom is herding cats.

Can anyone suggest an egg-timer type thing that has a less jarring sound (not on the phone or computer, as those tend to distract me)? My son panics like crazy every time I set it, hyperventilating, running in circles, flapping his hands. "I'm cleaning for 15 minutes. It will ring when the time is up. It's just a sound, telling me I can stop." "BUT IT WILL RING!" Then he panics more AFTER it rings, jumping, flailing, crying. It doesn't hurt his ears. He just loses it every single time I try to use it.

Also, my rooster died chasing off a fox (one of the girls just about got her comb ripped off - it's hanging on by 1/4 inch). I was sad, but he's not terrorizing the girls (especially now that the one is injured), not waking me up at 4:30 any more, and I'm not as concerned about my 2 year old playing outside. I'm... marginally grateful to that blasted fox.

My Fitbit vibrates for alarms. No one hears it.
Does the microwave bother him too? It and the stove have timers. Though I don’t like the stove. Too loud!
I’m glad to hear that your rooster did its job. I’m sorry that it was a dangerous rooster to begin with. I hope that you find a rooster that is as good of a protector but not aggressive. Your hen should make it. People in the Educational Incubating thread have dealt with it. If you need help, post there.

Can I seriously tell you? I love my Fitbit for its silent alarm. Even when I set my phone to play a song that I like, it would always stress me out in the morning. I’ve never panicked when my wrist vibrated.
Also, I do not check the time when I wake in the middle of the night anymore. My Fitbit alarm just solved so many sleeping problems for me.
