Defrosts and warm ups are no problem, just make sure she understands what metals and foils are and that they aren't ok in the microwave. Although she would probably get a kick out of the sparks show.
Sturgis woke the child. It was after eight, and he wanted her!
She came down hungry (this never happens), so I went down the breakfast list.
“And cheese sticks?! The bread with the cheese inside?!”
“Okay. If that’s what you want.”
“It is! And iced tea.”
“How about milk?”
“Tea!”
I made her breadstick, and brought milk in her favorite cup. It’s too dark to see what’s inside. I hoped she’d not notice it wasn’t what she asked for.
“I don’t want that cup!”
I still went for milk (I pre-fill cups).
“No! I wanted chocolate milk!” I was glad she at least wanted milk. Liking chocolate is pretty new too.
“You woke up on the wrong side of the bed, kid.”
“ Yeahhhhh.”
She never spoke in a snippy tone, so please don’t think she was being unkind.
I’m not sure if I mentioned her rooster flying up at her. It was on his birthday. And he did it again a few days later when she was down at the duck pen giving them scratch. I was not right there, so I told her to kick him. After the third time, I had to catch him. She held him a minute, but I had to do most of the holding. We played as usual for five or ten minutes before I put him down. He wasn’t fighting me at all. I did explain that you cannot just kick an animal.
He’s not done it since. I am wondering if he’s food aggressive with her. We’re still testing the waters. She is okay with getting a replacement (I’m expecting the chance in late July) if that is needed. But she will tell ya, “he’s too little to eat!”
SCORE!! I may not especially like my mother, but respect means that I have to be nice. So, I texted her a photo college card. She actually likes it so much, she wants to have it framed. Take that, siblings!!
Today I finally ordered internet. This time next week Duckling will have any show she could want to watch. She wasn’t into ABC Mouse, but might be now.
