Toddlers are Quackers

 Lauren is being weaned off morphine and the other sedatives. She isn’t awake, but aware. Great. But now they have discovered MRSA. Seriously?!
I’m not clear on why they un-cathed her, but they are redoing it. They expect her to stay in the hospital for six months.

Omg, how awful!

My husband got it. It really messed him up in the long run. Not to mention the cost!! His aunt had it twice (but I had to treat her 3 times because one time it was extra stubborn). Hospitals don’t swallow the cost despite it being preventable.
Again, I’m confused as to why they actually stopped using the catheter for a while. If there was a reason (like the fact that it’s another cause of infection), no one knows.

Depending on where the catheter was (assuming in blood vessel) they need to remove it as it acts like a foreign object, and a place for the bacteria to multiply and reinfect from even when the blood is clear.
Once the blood is clear they can reinsert a new catheter.
Same goes for urinary catheter.
