toe nails and such

Hey Michael, welcome to BYC!!!

Your chicken sounds like an amusing companion! Will he agree to let you post his picture here?

By the way, you can use dog toe nail clippers on your bird's beak, too. Just like with the toe nails, try not to take too much off at a time. Then you can use an emery board to smooth the edges.

o.k. so silkiechicken is not a sir.

one more thing for me to file away about the hierarchy of the chicken coop. i think it was using that red thunderchicken that is the backdrop for (her) avatar photo that threw me. chicks don't take pictures of cars. of course this place seems to be a bit odd when compared to the rest of the world so i guess it will take me a little while to adapt to the flock. do chickens flock or do they gaggle or is it some other term?

eggchel,
i posted a few photos over in the "what breed is this" section but you can see lots of photos if you just follow the link.

txchiknrancher,
even i would assume that 90 weight is a little thick for a chicken. i was thinking castrol 10w30 as my first guess. of course if you are in southern texas where it is really hot i could see running 90 weight in the heat of the summer just to keep the gaskets from leaking on the older models.

got that from the old AMF harleys I used to ride in the 70's only oil that would not run out on the ground. Everyone used to make me ride in the back of the group so when oil and things fell off, it wouldn't hit anyone else!

txchiknrancher,
i still have two amf/harleys in the garage. as the saying used to go back in the day about oil leaks... "if it doesn't bleed it isn't alive". the '73 likes to bleed but i put a evo in the '78 and it doesn't leak yet.

gotta go to church see ya'll in the morning.

omg ! I been using 90 weight all this time. No wonder they are so slugish in the morning when I first start em up.

I don't advise using 90 weight in a chicken...or a lawnmower, for that matter. Things tend to break when they can't move well.

Hey, what did I know? It was OIL, for crying out loud! I think it must run in the family...my mom put diesel in riding lawnmower once...*coff coff*

Welcome to BYC, michaelvcrowder! Have you considered writing books? Honestly, you have a storytelling gift and everybody at BYC loves a good chicken story.

I've got a lot more pictures of my car where that one came from. Hahaha, Probably a few GB at least. I used to be more involved in a car club but now spend my time here. I do however know how to change oil and have helped out with changing my alternator when it finally died. The hardest part was breaking the nuts.

Passed on the timing belt and water pump as I don't have the tools for the 120k.

Yes, we are all weird on here. :p Welcome to the club!
