I have my first batch of chicks, 4 and 5 weeks old, and one has a limp. I posted a few days ago about this but just now got a good enough look at her while walking to realize that the outside toe on her right foot is pointing out at a wider angle than the one on her left foot. The toe sort of rolls forwards too, so that the toe nail points backwards. I scoured the forum and PoultryPedia.com and made a little pipe cleaner and bandaid splint for her; thought I'd share some photos. It sounds like toe and foot injuries are fairly common? If anyone's done this and had good luck or has advice I'd be happy to hear it. She's a dear little bird and I hate to see her in pain!

Thanks for any advice folks! and Happy holiday.
