I got a beautiful 2 year old India blue pied peacock today.

His one foot had, what looked like a golf size clump of poo on it. When I soaked it off,his nail came off! It did not bleed but I thought I was gonna hurl!

Will this effect the poor guy? was it maybe bumblefoot? He did not make a sound when I did itbut what now? Also, Can I clip his wings like my chickens so he can ot fly out of the pen till I get netting up? Thanks for anyones advice......

Sorry I cant help with foot but even if you clip a wing he would still be able to jump a 6 foot high fence

Mud and poo can sometimes build up around a birds toenails when on wet ground. I had this happen with some quail, and yes if not very careful the nail can be pulled off when removing. This is not bumblefoot. The nail will often grow back and if not, it doesn't hurt they guy not to have one.
