We eat a lot of tofu at our house, and I overlooked a brick of it recently.
It went past the use-by date, and I thought: I could use it anyway, toss it, or feed it to the pullets. It's protein, right?? Delish!
So I put it in a bowl and drizzled honey over it, because I spoil my girls rotten, and then DD and I took it out to them...I got mobbed.
They not only ate it with the same ferocity reserved for the homemade yogurt, but even MORE enthusiasm. I guess it's a new fave they will have to wait a long time for, but I'll know next time, right?
It was a duck-and-cover situation, for all interested- the flicking of the beak that occurs every time they eat something sticky or gummy was worse than ever. It was worth watching!
