Tom making throaty noises at times, is this normal?

My full-grown Tom makes noises deep in his throat. At first I thought it sounded like congestion he was trying to clear. He does not appear sick, no runny nose, no fever, no puffiness or swelling on head or face. No growths noted, eyes bright and clear. He gobbles as usual. He is imprisoned in a horse stall with a Muscovy as I cannot have him arouned my new flock of Marans if he could be sick. Just looking at him, he looks well. Walks, struts, talks to you. He is my first turkey, so have no clue about turkey sounds. Any help, please??? Tom has been sequestered in the stall for 6 weeks now, no signs of illness, with a perfectly healthy appearing duck. A guinea pig Roo was put with them 5 days ago and he is as healthy as ever. Looks perfect, no CRD symptoms yet. Any ideas? Would it be safe to let them out to free range? They would be close (not with) to the chicks. It be so so hard to cull Tom, we've become very fond of him and he is such a personality. Thoughts?

Maybe dust from the stalls? or mold somewhere thats irritating him? stalls tend to have some dust problems ..Maybe he is allergic to something in the stalls?
Beeing locked up for that long isnt a good thing.. they need fresh air and sunshine.

When does he make the noise? Is it while he's strutting or what?

When they strut they make a rumbling noise that kinda comes from their belly.....

I would be more apt to think it was just a normal sound they make than a 'sick' sound.

I have a burbon red that I believe makes a similiar sound. He is healthy also. I just figured it was a noise they make. this is my first time with them.

Thanks. Poor ole Tom. He is still in his stall (it's big) and he wants out. I have a guinea pig (Roo) in with him who is perfectly healthy still. It's been a few days. He seems as healthy as ever. Tom sill has just a "congested" sound, but no drainage or foul smell. I do let him out at night into the barn, when he won't roam far into the yard. I think if the Roo is not sick by next week, they can all come out into the yard. Just makes me nervous. I am considering getting him tested, but it cost $75.00 and that is too much to spend on a pet turkey right now. He'll just have to stay in quarantine one more week.
