Tom turkey being weird

Has anyone had a turkey do this? He extends his neck for a moment then returns to normal. He has done it every since he was a poult and I can't find any information on the subject. Does anyone know why he does this? Thanks.

Male turkeys typically extend their necks when gobbling and then immediately return to a normal position.

Male turkeys typically extend their necks when gobbling and then immediately return to a normal position.

I have seen him extend his neck when he gobbles but sometimes he extends his neck without gobbling.

There are any different number of reasons from trying to get a look at something to a few other sounds that they make in this fashion such as trilling or trying to clear his throat or even just practicing doing the neck extension.
