tomato plants and ducks

my chickens and ducks have free range of my garden which I don't mind except my ducks seem to like chewing on my tomato plants and have done some damage. the chickens have just foraged for worms and insects. will the tomato plants hurt the ducks?? I thought they would make them sick since a tomato is a night shade plant.

I had a Light Sussex roo, big sturdy boy, got into my poly tunnel and ate the tomato plants....was dead 36 hours later. All the green parts of a tomato plant are toxic and should be protected from your ducks and chooks. The ducks may have eaten insufficient quantity to harm at the moment but is it worth the risk? x
