Are tomatoes safe for chickens to eat??

My chickens loves tomatoes, I cut them in chucks and they love them.

Tomatoes are fine. It’s the tomato plant itself that contains some bad stuff for chickens or about anything else. But the tomato plants are so bitter, they won’t eat enough to hurt themselves. One bite of the tomato plant won’t hurt them. They’d have to eat more than that to get enough to do damage.

The tomato plants are one of those things that some people will get all worked up about how they are poisonous to chickens and get all freaked out, but since they won’t eat enough to hurt themselves because of the taste, it’s really nothing to worry about. And occasionally people get tomato plants and tomatoes mixed up.
