tomorrow they come off the turner

ebonykawai,
Off topic here, but isn't that an ear candle in your sig?
They are supposed to help clean out ear wax, tried one on my daughter and know a couple people swear by them. Have you ever used?

Back to topic, we just moved 5 eggs to hatcher yesterday, their hatch date it the 27th, we'll see, temp 100 humidity running around 70%
Yipeeee

Yep, I have an ongoing joke about candling, lol. My last icon was a lady holding a candle on her head.

OK, I HEARD A CHEEP!!!! But no pips yet.

I hope they're OK. Temp has been constant 100, humidity 70%.

I'm about ready to collapse.

Good luck everyone! Ive been watching this thread and I am nervous and excited for you!

Mine are going to be on day 18 tomorrow. Somehow I managed to plan it so they hatch on the weekend. I wish I could take credit for doing it on purpose, but nope, it was an accident! Lol

Ebonykawai, your avatar cracks me up everytime I see it. My second job is at a health food store--ear candling is a big deal.

It also reminds me of the time I burned my husband trying to candle his ears. Whoopsie!

Congrats to everyone who has pips, peeps & chicks! Stevie, any updates on your ducks?

I haven't slept in two days it seems. I started having chicks pop out of shells Monday a.m., and they're still coming! I think I had some humidity and/or temp issues I didn't catch, as I've had a couple have a hard time hatching because they were stuck to their shells and at least one that seems to have drowned in the shell. I can't figure out why I would have problems from both ends of the humidity spectrum, but maybe I'll know more when the hatch is completely done. I think the final outcome is gonna be that I need a new 'bator!

So far I think I have about 20 babies with several more pips & zips. I think that, overall, it's gonna be a fairly successful hatch. Though it seems like all I have hatched are roosters from my shipped Marans eggs!!

I spent a lot of worry and money on those eggs, I do hope I get at least one hen! I did hatch what appears to be an entirely white Marans sport, though. Not anything that I can use for my breeding program, but will be interesting to see what it looks like when it grows up!

Here's my favorite pair of Polish's very first chick ever:

I might crack them open to see whats going on. I put them to my ear and tapped the egg and I hear no movement or peeping.

Update: I just broke the membrand and it is still alive. I feel so guilty now. Would he still be alive since I rushed him back in the bator?I am never ever going to do that again

Yes!! If you put him/her back they'll be fine, they just aren't ready yet, but they will be soon, I just know it!

I HAVE A PIP! And a teensy beak through it! And more peeping. And I must look like a crazy person there, clucking away, lol!!

Stevie, today's our day! Come on, just put that one back and have hope!!

Adding: I'm so glad I didn't do the carton method. This one with the beak out pipped at the small end. I don't think it would have made it in the carton.
