Tomorrow's going to be tough

wow....she looks nearly identical to my "stray" Charlotte. I've had for nearly 3 years now. (couldn't bring myself to bring her to the pound and she's turned into just the sweetest dog). Good for you for rescuing this sweet one.

Bless you for saving her and finding her a responsible forever home. Think of the JOY her new owner will feel, and the companionship she will provide!

The tug of letting her go will be replaced very soon with the realization of how much joy she is bringing to another.

Good job all the way around.

You put a lot of thought into finding her a Good Home instead of just, a home. Feel proud.

Don't worry, dogs are smart. She'll adjust to being re-homed.

I'm so thrilled you could A) rescue her; and B) spay her!!!!

You're an awesome animal lover!

I bet she was whipped with a fly swatter. Must have REALLY been whipped too, to get so scared. She is darling. How good you brought her home. That friend of your MIL needed a dog, and Karma intervened for you to bring her one. You just didn't know it then!!!

Sadie's doing wonderfully in her new home

We met up with my MIL yesterday, and spent a while with her so Sadie could get to know her, then she went on with her to her new home.

I was worried how it would go, Sadie clung onto me when my husband stopped to check the mail, she thought we were going to dump her out

She warmed up to my MIL well though.

My MIL called us last night to say that she had got to her friend's house before she returned from an errand, and Sadie and her new GSP friend Odie were playing before her new owner even got home. Odie was grinning ear to ear all afternoon about having a new friend, and had given her a tour of the yard and the fish pond. She's going to the vet this week to get her shots and be spayed. Her new owner is delighted with her, and told us to come and see her whenever we like. We'll let her get settled in first.

I'm so happy for her, and relieved. My MIL loved her too, she said if the drive was much longer she'd probably have ended up keeping her! If her new home doesn't work out she can go and live with my MIL.

watch it cara
every animal that i ever found and brought home was on its best behavior until we made it feel welcome
we call it the honey moon stage
i love all of the strays that we brought home
and they are still with us
but it will show its true colors when it feels welcome
and to me that could mean being just as sweet or turn into ivan the terror
either way good luck with your new cutie
